Hardware Development & VnV
TDE will take your avionics hardware requirements, documents, and design artifacts and use them to comply with DO-254 design assurance standards. We develop all the Validation and Verification documents that you, as a company, have agreed to generate with your customer and the FAA / EASA. We will translate your functional / performance requirements into testable test cases / test proceedures and perform said testing. We will also help you represent the VnV material during all SOI audits.
We will also design and develop your hardware items and employ our expert understanding of DO-254 to your hardware items. The key being that VnV STARTS during the development phase, not after. This has the combined effect of reducing NRE, requirements mistakes, development time, test time, and the number of SOI audits that usually are converted to TIMs (technical interchange meeting) because of failure to comply / conform to DO-254.

Requirements Management
Requirements that support DO-254 are key to a successful procession of SOI audits and Safety of Flight status. We know the difference between functional / performance based requirements and implementation based requirements. It takes good functional requirements to augment the testing phase and successfully reach certification for your hardware item(s).
Are you having problems closing any phase of the hardware design life cycle process? We have the depth and breadth of experience necessary to put your project on track to successful completion. Our experience has shown that most problems start at the hardware item's requirements, tracing, and derived justification. Once these issues are fixed all work will proceed with fewer mistakes, set-backs, and resources.
Test
Everything TDE VnV does is based on testing the actual device (FPGA, CCA, BOX) in question. This is where the hardware is verified against the functional requirements: does the hardware item function / perform as the requirements demand?
Test Rigs
TDE will develop test rigs for your specific application. This includes custom break-out boxes, developing labview code, or custom hardware as the project dictates. We know test rigs. We build ours with as much COTS material as possible. This reduces part costs and development time. We document all our test rigs such that you can duplicate it at will, with ease. This is also a DO-254 objective; that all test apparatuses developed for the specific use of testing DO-254 certified hardware items must conform to the documentation standards.
