Board Layout

TDE is no ordinary PCB layout house. We have a solid understanding of how the board layout generates or mitigates EMI/EMC. Most PCB layout people have a great understanding of how to run the layout tool...but that's all. Where their understanding ends, is where we excel. We know part placement, routing of buses and critical signals, impedance control, termination techniques and when to deploy termination on signals. We understand the effects of switcher power supply noise, ground bounce/ ground loops, propagation delay, signal ringing, signal line agressors, and unwanted radiated RF all due to or contributed by poor PCB layout.

Our breadth of experience gives us the confidence to be successful in any cutting-edge multi-layer PCB layout design.

Schematic to GERBER

TDE will take your netlist or generate a netlist for you (using OrCAD), build the library parts per datasheet specifications followed by part placement based on functional regions. Critical routes, buses, power, I/O are all analyzed based on engineering experience, analysis, and calculation.

Routing

The PCB layout tools industry has been able to develop auto-routers that even when trained or "programmed" well still do not contain the logical deduction and critical engineering analysis required to produce a low RF noise generating board which is also robust and which does not show signs of power or ground problems. It is for this very reason that we hand-route most of our boards. Hand routing allows us to control every aspect of the layout...dare we say, it is engineered for success.

PCB Mechanical

TDE is happy to work with you to develop the board outline and other mechanical points of interest with respect to your new hardware. We also welcome your direct input in the form of mechanical drawings from your Mechanical Engineering staff.
